Bravado Designs and a review of their Essential Embrace Nursing Bra

Bravado Designs and a review of their Essential Embrace Nursing Bra

One of the most important and most used items of clothing a pregnant woman can wear is a good supportive maternity/nursing bra. After having been through two pregnancies now and breast feeding two children, I can safely say that finding one that is comfortable and supportive at the same time can be difficult, especially if you have a large bust. It’s also a mind field when it comes to sizes as your bust changes size and shape throughout pregnancy, and then expands as your milk comes in after birth.

I therefore jumped at the chance to review a nursing bra from the lovely Bravado Designs as I’d heard such good things about them from other blogs that I’ve read. I was excited to receive the lovely Essential Embrace Nursing Bra in Chai with almond piping. Its a lovely skin coloured nursing bra making it suitable for wearing underneath a variety of different garments. What I really liked about the bra is that the straps are a nice thickness like a ‘normal’ bra meaning it is suitable for wearing with tops and dresses that have straps, without being noticeable.

The straps are fully adjustable to fit and the back has a row of four hooks for adjusting the back width. I found that having four hooks gave me extra support, even though the bra has no underwire.

The bra itself is made from Bravado Dynatex fabric that combines the benefits of cotton and microfiber resulting in a silky smooth and breathable fabric.

The Bravado Dynatex fabric made the bra very comfortable to wear, adjusting to my movements and feeling soft yet supportive on my skin. The bra did not rub and gave my bust a lovely shape, a shape that I have only really achieved with an underwire bra so to achieve this in a nursing bra I was extremely pleased!

In between me receiving the bra and trying it out, we had our own new arrival hence I could then try it out as a nursing bra as well as maternity bra. As a nursing bra, it felt good against my skin which is especially important in those first few weeks when your breasts get used to the milk demands of your newborn – the last thing you need is a bra that adds to initial discomforts that you may get as breast feeding is established. It was also really easy to un-hook the sides of the bra with one hand making it much easier to hold baby as well as getting yourself prepared to begin breast feeding them.

I have also been having a look at the other range of bras that Bravado have to offer. Some of my favourites are the Sublime Nursing Bra which is one for those special occasions as well as the Original Nursing Bra for an everyday nursing bra.

Overall I was very impressed with the Essential Embrace Nursing Bra by Bravado Designs and would certainly recommend it to other nursing mums. It is definitely one for everyday use where comfort is a priority but not compromising on style and shape.
