Pampers Active Fit Nappies – #BritainsDriestNappy challenge

Pampers Active Fit Nappies – #BritainsDriestNappy challenge

Have you ever thought how well your child’s nappy draws liquid away from their bottom? I will admit that I always test the performance of nappies by if they leak or not. Now that L is sleeping longer periods at night, I now need to also think about how effective it is at keeping his bottom dry inside his nappy, as well as keeping leaks at bay.

With this in mind, we were set the challenge of testing Pampers Active Fit nappies to see how effective they are at keeping baby dry inside the nappy.

Pampers Active Fit nappies have an extra-absorbent layer that quickly draws wetness away, locking it in so that baby stays up to 2 times drier than the next leading nappy.

Now in order to test this, we were challenged to complete a quick demonstration to test the effectiveness of Pampers Active Fit nappies at drawing liquid away from inside the nappy surface.

Here’s our video log of us completing the demonstration (please excuse the voice – I’m full of a cold!):

I was really pleased with the amount of water that the nappy was able to soak up in a short amount of time and even more so with small amount of liquid that was transferred on to the kitchen towel. This shows how well the Pampers Active Fit nappy was able to draw liquid away from the inner surface. If that nappy was on L, it would have meant that he would have had a drier bottom meaning increased comfort for him.

Now how does the nappy work? We cut the water soaked nappy in half to show the inner magic behind how it draws water from the surface of the nappy so effectively.

Inside the nappy are absorbent micro pearls that absorb all the gel, forming a gel that locks the liquid away from its wearer, thus protecting them from dampness for up to 12 hours (depending on how often your little one urinates).

We currently use Pampers Baby Dry which we are very happy with as they too have the same 12 hour protection but would happily change to Pampers Active Fit if we ever needed to. We have just used them with L over night and they perform just as well as Pampers Baby Dry and L found them comfortable with a good fit around his tummy and legs (please excuse the grumpy photos – L is currently teething!).

They also have a cute design with comfortable material and the technology behind how the nappy is effective at absorbing liquid away from baby’s delicate skin is proven as shown by our quick demonstration!

  1. The gel is actually illegal to be used in Tampons and has been known to burn baby’s skin. Would you ever consider modern cloth nappies if you got sent one to try out?

    • I would hun and have done with my eldest. Alas a the minute, we haven’t got the funds to purchase enough re-usables to make it worth us making the switch. But I would if I could :) xx

  2. I enjoyed reading about how you got on. Commenting for myself and on behalf of BritMums and thanking you for taking part.
