First moments in support of UNICEF
Now we all remember and cherish those first moments with each of our children. Their first smile; their first giggle; their first word; their first steps; the list goes on forever. But for some children born in poorer countries, they do not get the chance to reach these milestones due to contracting the preventable but deadly Maternal and Newborn Tetanus. Due to this, UNICEF and Pampers have collaborated together for their 9th 1 pack = 1 vaccine campaign in order to make available the Tetanus vaccine to those children at risk to help eliminate the treat of Maternal and Newborn Tetanus in 24 of the world’s poorest countries.
Since 2006, the campaign has funded an incredible 300 million vaccines, eliminating the disease in 15 countries – that’s another five countries since the campaign last year!
So in my support of this campaign and the lives that it is going to help save, I am going to share some of my own children’s firsts:
First day born:
First sit ups:
First sibling cuddles:
My list could go on! But I am thankful to have had these moments with my children and want to ensure that other mother and fathers have the opportunity to do so with their own children too.
Now celebrity mum Emma Bunton has recognised the importance of this campaign and has become the Pampers UNICEF ambassador. In the video below, she explains why she is showing her support for the 1 pack = 1 vaccine campaign and how celebrating each little first is so precious in our own children and those of others.
So how can you help?
1 Pack = 1 Life-Saving Vaccine
During October – December 2014, or each specially marked Pampers – UNICEF pack purchased, Pampers will donate for example the cost of one tetanus vaccine to support UNICEF in the fight against maternal & newborn tetanus.
1 View = 1 Life-Saving Vaccine / 1 Share = 1 Life-Saving Vaccine
During October – December 2014, you can watch the online films that celebrate the first-time moments of babies everywhere, many of them made possible by a healthy start in life. Watch a video and Pampers will donate one vaccine. Share it with your friends and Pampers will donate a second. Upload to the Pampers Facebook page a photo of your baby experiencing their first special moments – whether that’s cuddles, smiles or tastes – and Pampers will donate a third life-saving vaccine.
