Gruffalo Jigsaw Fun with Ravensburger

Gruffalo Jigsaw Fun with Ravensburger

Now one of NOM’s targets from Nursery was to be able to complete simple jigsaw puzzles with a variety of different themes. When we were offered to try out the lovely new Gruffalo Jigsaw Puzzle by Ravensburger, we jumped at the chance as it’s one of NOM’s favourite stories.

The puzzle itself is aimed at 3+ years and is actually 2 puzzles for the price of one. It comes in an attractive box with the front being covered with all the well known characters from the fab Gruffalo story. Inside the box you get the instructions, the pieces for both Gruffalo puzzles and a paper picture of each puzzle to be made.

Now what I really loved about these puzzles was the actual paper pictures that were included. It made it so much easier for NOM to make the puzzle as she used it as a base to help her visually find the correct pieces to form the puzzle. Rather than using the box cover to look at the picture, the paper version (which is sized to scale) made it easier for NOM (and nanna!) to finish the puzzle independently and she was so proud when she had done it!

The jigsaw pieces themselves are a good size for little fingers as well as being well made, and with each of the puzzles being 12 pieces, I thought that this was a good number for NOM’s age (age 3), keeping her attention long enough to complete at least one of the puzzles at a time (although she did attempt the do the 2nd one straight after completing the first). I do think though that an older child (5+ maybe?) may find the puzzle a little easy but it would definitely appeal to any Gruffalo fan.

NOM was very proud when she had completed the 2 puzzles and they are lovely, colourful and bright. It would make the perfect present for any young Grufflao fan and definitely got the thumbs up from us!
